Bjørnen Design creates authentic and aspirational homes.
Our mission is simple: to make a house feel like home.
We think of the work as Aesthetic Therapy — helping clients reframe the question from “What is this house?” to “What does this home mean to me?”.
Every project begins with understanding the relationship between the client and the property: what drew them to it, what resonates, and how they want to live there. From that foundation, we create interiors that feel familiar yet elevated — spaces imbued with beauty, comfort, memory, and meaning.
Whether designing a shingled Hamptons home, a Montecito Spanish Colonial, a timeless Connecticut country house, a Sonoma mid-century retreat, or a New York or San Francisco Aerie, we tailor every residence with elegant proportions, gracious comfort, and approachable luxury in mind.
Each home is a layered canvas, where architecture, interiors, landscape, and art come together in a deeply personal way. We curate fabrics, wall and floor coverings with tactile metal, stone and wood surfaces, along with a collection of furnishings and objects — where every detail is an opportunity to bring depth, richness, and soul to a home.
Art is often central to our process. Whether clients bring an existing collection or we help them acquire works that speak to their lives, our lifelong passion for art, travel, design, and culture ensures a natural and inspiring creative collaboration.
Our holistic approach considers not only how a home looks, but how it feels. Whether inspired by the rhythm of the water, the beauty of the landscape, the movement of the skies, or the quiet expanse of vineyard views, every palette we design is attuned to the spirit of its environment.
